Cultivating Peace with Animals and Reiki

Kat Forgacs, owner of BLISS Animal Reiki, will conduct a three-day experiential healing retreat July 15 to 17, for cultivating more peace, connection, compassion, gratitude, mindfulness, joy and well-being through practice with traditional reiki meditations with all beings. Instruction and guided practice sessions will take place at a private location in Bloomington and at the Bloomington Animal Shelter.

Participants will discover how to intentionally center, connect and become fully present through traditional Japanese reiki meditations, personal development tools and chanting practices.

Forgacs, a certified teacher of Japanese reiki and animal reiki, says, “Animal reiki emphasizes non-touch meditation practices for sharing a peaceful, loving, grounded space of well-being with all creatures. We will practice tools for finding and maintaining a grounded feeling of peace and for helping to facilitate that feeling of calm, love and well-being for others.”

The retreat includes training and certification in Japanese Reiki 1: Discovering Your True Self and Animal Reiki 1: Sharing Peace with Animals. The Animal Reiki Retreat welcomes all animal lovers and reiki practitioners from all lineages.

Retreat cost is $325 early bird through June 15; $350 through July 5 or when spaces fill. Special rates for animal rescuers and reiki practitioners. A portion of proceeds will support local animal welfare. For registration, email or visit
