TURN Fest Returns with Keynote Speaker Kimbal Musk

The TURN (Transforming Urban Neighborhoods) Fest is a one-day educational event taking place from noon to 6 p.m. on September 30 at Paramount School. There’ll also be a TURN Feast at 6 p.m. on the day before, featuring a five-course “earth-to-table” experience.

This year’s keynote speaker is Kimbal Musk, co-founder of The Kitchen Restaurant Group, presented at 1 p.m.. Musk was named a 2017 Social Entrepreneur by the World Economic Forum for his mission to bring “Real Food to Everyone.” He has two new restaurants opening in Indianapolis this year, Hedge Row and Next Door, with farm-to-table cuisine. Musk’s non-profits help build Learning Gardens in Indianapolis schools.

TURN Fest, presented by Paramount School in partnership with the Community Health Network, offers a celebration of urban sustainability, focusing on farm, food, health and environment with demonstrations, exhibits, children’s activities, music and food.

The TURN Feast is presented by Slow Food Indy, Paramount School Farm and Community Health Network and is offering unique culinary styles from award-winning chefs with the best local and seasonal ingredients. Profits support Paramount School and Slow Food Indy.

Admission for TURN Fest is free. Admission for TURN Feast is $125 and limited to 100 guests. Both events are located at 3020 Nowland Ave., Indianapolis. For more information or TURN Feast reservations, visit TurnFestival.com.
