Helping Ninjas Recognizes Tom Wood Subaru’s Support of TerraCycle

Helping Ninjas of Indianapolis recently presented a Stand Up for Our Planet Certificate of Recognition to Tom Wood Subaru for its eco-friendly business approach and contributions that positively impact the local community and environment. The group noted the dealership’s support of TerraCycle, a company that collects and recycles hard-to-recycle-items, as part of the Helping Ninjas #StandUp 4RPlanet initiative.

The Tom Wood Subaru dealership sponsors a collection box for TerraCycle to help area residents recycle items that are not typically accepted at local recycling centers, including snack wrappers and coffee/tea capsules. Collected items are upcycled and repurposed into items like park benches, which are donated to children’s parks in the Indianapolis area.

Founded in 2017 by Leo Barry and his mom Lindsey, Helping Ninjas began as an initiative to save the pollinators and, in turn, help the environment. Since it began, the group, comprised of area youth, has established a number of programs to educate kids about environmental awareness and action.
